This seminar is for faculty, staff, students from the Medical School and other Health Sciences schools who would like to learn how to:

  • Discover how classroom and clinical experience change with mobile access to information.
  • Explore apps that are enhancing medical education, improve patient monitoring, electronic medical records, imaging, and clinical reference.
  • See how new tools enable faculty to create interactive learning materials.
  • Find out how institutions, faculty and providers are using iTunes U to deliver education materials accessible even without the Internet.

The presenter is Dr. Lina Lander is a Higher Education Development Executive with Apple Inc. She earned her Doctorate of Science (Sc.D.) from Harvard University and BS and MS from the University of Toronto. Prior to Apple, Dr. Lander was an Associate Professor at the Department of Epidemiology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She has led numerous research and consulting projects in epidemiology, occupational health, surveillance, and evaluation of injury risk factors. She has authored 46 publications in peer-reviewed journals and presented at over 60 national and international conferences. Dr. Lander speaks nationally on utilizing technology in teaching, research, and clinical practice.
